The earthquake has killed over 43,000 people and this is expected to rise. Local authorities had reported that there have been over 30,000 killed in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir, and this figure alone is expected to increase the official number. -Seeing how all this plays out on the news is heartbreaking, seeing those images of people left homeless and children orphaned by this tragedy brings me to tears. The fact that my dad and my entire family are in Pakistan, so close to disaster zone disturbs/scares me, but I can only pray to God that everything will be alright. I thank God though, that my family was safe in this disaster but at the same time I feel for those who lost their children, parents, grandparents, friends and people they were close to. Like Tayiba said sadly there is nothing we can do but pray for the safety of our people and for all the innocent souls that went about their day not knowing what the future held for them. May Allah help all those who were affected by this horrible event and give them strength to go on.
